World Design Organization
The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design came to be later known as the World Design Organization. It primarily focused on Industrial design creating a worldwide society to promote better design around the world. The WDO, that saw its inception at London is spread across 40 nations and includes 170 organizations with 150,000 established designers.
Their objectives were formed to spread public awareness of the industrial designers, to raise the standard of design by setting standards for training and education, and to encourage cooperation between industrial designers worldwide
WDO undertakes a number of initiatives of global appeal to support the effectiveness of industrial design in an attempt to address the needs and aspirations of people around the world, to improve the quality of life, as well as help to improve the economy of nations throughout the world.
WDO holds United Nations Special Consultative Status which empowers them to make change, and works towards addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Creative Institute of Design has at present applied for the membership at the World Design Organization to help create a firm footing in the industry creating excellent opportunities for the budding designers of India.
