What are the courses offered in CID ?





Is the course recognised both in India and abroad for higher studies and jobs?

Yes, Ours is a dual degree programme from a UGC recognized Top Indian University as well as a leading UK University known for Design Education. Students can follow academic or career paths in India, UK and abroad. As we adhere to the stringent norms of QAA*, one of the highest education norms in the world, this enables students to transfer credits and have an education certification that is recognized across the world.

What is the duration of the course?

The duration of SCID comprehensive Design Education programme is 4 years, with one year of Foundation studies in Art & Design followed by 3 years in the student’s specialized field of study. Students learn through hands-on experiential learning in a studio environment alongside top faculty, with the mentorship of practising design experts, educationists and more from India and around the world.

Eligibility Criteria

What are the Eligibility criteria for admission?

A Pass result in 10+2, or 10+3 (Diploma) or A-level or equivalent qualification with English as a Medium of instruction. In case the medium of instruction was another language, then an IELTS 6.0 score will be accepted to demonstrate the candidate’s


English language proficiency.

If I am studying with the NIOS (National Institute of Open School) for 10+2 schooling, am I eligible to apply?

Yes, candidates who have written Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects are also eligible to apply to Creative College of Design.

What are the selection criteria?

Stage 1 – SCIDT (Sasi Creative Institute of Design Test)

Stage 2 – Design Portfolio Review + Personal Interview 

Note : The Stage 1 Written Test and Stage 2 Portfolio Review + Personal Interview of the SCIDT will be conducted on the same day in the forenoon and afternoon sessions respectively. ( For Exam Dates please refer SCID Application Form)

Can a student apply for courses in the absence of final +2 results?

Yes, candidates can apply on a provisional basis and go through the admission process. However their enrolment will be confirmed only after verification of original mark sheets.

Are there any other criteria for admission without appearing for entrance exam?

Students who have written UCEED, NATA, NIFT or NID exams can submit their score card while applying for admission to SCID. On scrutiny of their application, they may be exempt from writing the Stage 1 exam and will be intimated accordingly, but the Stage 2 Portfolio Review and Personal Interview is compulsory for all.

Can I get admission through credit transfer from another higher education program?

Yes, we do have credit transfer facilities. But we will have to review your application, academic records, portfolio and experience to determine if you are eligible for the same.

What if I do not have any academic qualifications but I have work experience and want to qualify myself with a professional degree from CID?

We do have the APEL system in place i.e Accreditation of Prior Experiential learning. At CID we understand that mature students may possess considerable amounts of uncertified learning, which may have been derived from their work or other experiences. It is our intention to offer such students an opportunity to gain credit for this learning if their application, aptitude and demonstration of skills and abilities are deemed appropriate. However once an APEL claim is substantiated, the candidate will have to appear for both Stage 1 and 2 of the entrance process to gain admission.

How can one apply?

Prospective can download the form from the Admissions page or they can request for the form  by emailing [email protected].

How can I submit the form?

Students can download the form from and then send the completed form to [email protected] or send in their application via courier or registered post to our address. You can also request for an application form by sending us an email directly. Apart from this, Students can visit our campus and fill out a form.

When is the last date to send in applications?

If you choose to attend the entrance test on MAY 11, 2019, the last date for receiving applications is  MAY 07, 2019.

If you want to attend the entrance test on MAY 31, 2019 the last date is MAY 28, 2019.

Exam Pattern, Centre & Result

What is the pattern of CID Test?

Stage 1 – Written Test where we test Analytical, Logical, Quantitative, General Knowledge, Creativity, and Conceptual Abilities 

Stage 2 Design Portfolio Review & Personal Interview with our panel of educationists, design practitioners, counsellors and other senior faculty members

Note: The Stage 1 Written Test and Stage 2 Portfolio Review + Personal Interview of the CIDT will be conducted on the same day in the forenoon and afternoon sessions respectively.

What are the exam centres for the test?

As of now, Candidates need to write the exam at our Creative College of Design campus in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. However centres in other cities can be arranged if there are a large number of candidates from a single location, according to our internal terms & conditions and would be intimated to candidates by their registered mail id. If you would like to request the same, please contact the admissions department.

When will the results be announced?

April 22,2019 / May 18,2019 / June 06,2019.

How will the result be communicated?

Result will be communicated via SMS and Email.

Payment Related

Can I pay application fee and admission fee online ?

Payment is accepted by DD/Cash/NEFT. In case of DD / NEFT , it needs to be intimated by mail to [email protected]

Can I make part payment for reserving seat?

No. After getting admission letter, candidates need to follow the given deadline for payment.


Can I get 100% placement after completion of the degree?
