B.Des Industrial Design

Duration: 4 years | Eligibility: +2 / Equivalent

B.Des Industrial Design is a four year programme. The programme encourages and ensures that various approaches, processes and systems to address human needs by creating tangible products. The programmes introduces Combine art, business and engineering to create new cutting edge innovative products that will create a big impact on people. The programmes trained to consider the function, aesthetics, production costs and usability of products when developing new product concepts.

COURSE OVERVIEW & STRUCTURE

The B.Des programme has been designed in response to the growing need in India and even other parts of Asia for a recognized professional programme in ‘Design’. The awards have clear objectives and a common modular structure, which are aligned with the QAA Benchmark definitions. The common modules structure provides all the students with a rigorous understanding of the fundamental knowledge of key aspects of Design. This provides a solid foundation for students to build upon which they study in their specialized modules.

ACCREDITATION

We offer a four year exclusive Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program approved by an Alagappa University recognised by UGC.

In addition, we are collaboration with a Birmingham City University to enable students with cutting edge education content, methods and learning thereby equipping our students with skills that are amongst the best world wide. UK universities are generally renowned worldwide for quality education and are highly reputed worldwide.

The foreign collaboration also adheres to the stringent norms of QAA, one of the highest norms in the world. This ensures that students are bound to get the best of training and learning.

What we teach here, apart from the technical skill sets, is a radical conceptual approach to design and test them through debate and through application in public space. You will learn to consider design practice in relation to the human conditions experienced in everyday life as well as in relation to social, political, landform, urban and virtual environments.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Applicants should be minimum of 16 years of age by 31 December in the year of entry with medium of instruction as English.

10 +2 or equivalent

It is mandatory to acquire English Language IELTS 6.0 qualification for students whose first language is not English.

“Accreditation of Prior Experiential learning” (APEL):

Mature students may possess considerable amounts of uncertified learning, which may have been derived from work base or other experiences. It is our intention to offer such students an opportunity to gain credit for this learning if that would be appropriate. Claim for APEL, should be made prior to the start of the programme.

Credit Transfer

Applicant can apply with credit transfer facilities as well. Applicants need to submit a
portfolio to be considered for the same.
